Nerazzurri Sport CEO analyses Inter's UEFA Champions League group

MILAN – Giuseppe Marotta shared his views on Inter's UEFA 2021/22 Champions League draw after the Nerazzurri were drawn in Group D alongside Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk and Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday.

"In a competition like the Champions League many different factors come into play,” the Nerazzurri Sport CEO said. “It's unusual to end up with two of the same teams who were in our group last season. Then we have Sheriff as well, who are in the group stage for the first time.

“It's certainly going to be a tricky group but the main thing is we make sure we're ready with our best team when the time comes around.

“It's never easy to get a result at the Bernabeu and Real will be even more determined to do well now that they're back there, so it will be even tougher for visitors.

“I think with the team we have this year European opponents will have a harder time figuring us out. [Simone] Inzaghi is a fantastic coach with bundles of enthusiasm so we feel very confident.

“Inter have a long history of success and we'll do everything we can to be in with a shout in every competition.”
