APPIANO GENTILE – Primavera defender Edoardo Sottini has revealed his joy and gratitude at having the chance to train with the first team.
The 18-year-old centre-back is one of the handful of youth players drafted in to work with Simone Inzaghi's squad in this initial phase of pre-season:
“Training with the champions of Italy is an incredible experience for me and all of us academy lads who have been given this opportunity,” he told Inter TV. “
The first few days are always tiring but it's important to start on the right note and get your fitness up so that you're ready for all the matches ahead.”
The youngster also reflected on his time at the club so far.
"When I signed for Inter from Cremonese, I never thought I'd be able to join the senior team. I'm happy to have earned myself playing time for the Primavera and now I'm delighted to get this chance.
“We had a good season with the U19s last year and it was such a shame to lose the Scudetto semi-final in the last second. I'm sure we'll do really with [Cristian] Chivu as coach too now.”
