The latest round of international fixtures has come to an end, with ten Nerazzurri having been called up to their respective National Teams. On matchday three in World Cup qualifying, four Inter players took to the pitch.
SENSI SCORES IN ITALY WIN, BASTONI AND BARELLA ALSO PLAY
A Nerazzurri contribution to another Italy victory. Roberto Mancini's side recorded their third win in World Cup qualifying, beating Lithuania 2-0 in Vilnius thanks to a goal from Stefano Sensi and Ciro Immobile's stoppage-time penalty.
Three Inter players were involved, with Alessandro Bastoni being selected as a starter and coming off in the 89th minute on his fourth Azzurri appearance. Stefano Sensi, meanwhile, came on at half-time for his eighth Italy cap and made an instant impact, finding the net after 47 minutes with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box. Nicolò Barella then replaced Pessina in the 62nd minute and won the spot-kick that Immobile converted.
Italy currently sit on maximum points in Group C, with Roberto Mancini's men now having matched the 25-game unbeaten run previously achieved by Marcello Lippi's Azzurri side.
