MILAN - His stop to deny Zapata’s headed effort was a piece of brilliance that kept the score locked at 0-0 in the first half. After the break, he made a spectacular save to deny Muriel and commanded the penalty area. Samir Handanovic had a big impact on Inter’s 1-0 win over Atalanta, their seventh on the spin in Serie A.
After the game, Inter’s captain spoke to Sky Sport: “Atalanta are showing that they’re a great team, they’ve done so for two or three years now. They’re not an easy team to face for anybody. We suffered a bit, but you have to in order to win sometimes. This is the path. We were great and lucky to have not conceded. We did well to keep a clean sheet.”
“It was a tough, physical game and it was so important that we won it. We work hard each day to correct mistakes and prepare for games. It was disappointing to go out of Europe but now, we can benefit from the ability to prepare well for each game. We need to keep going in this manner, showing that we know how to fight as a unit. We need to shift our focus to Torino straight away.”
