MILAN - He was elusive throughout. First by winning the penalty before scoring the goal which made it 3-1 as his dribbling, shots and flashes of brilliance made him a constant thorn in the side of the Lazio defence. Against the Biancocelesti, Lautaro Martinez enjoyed one of his best games in an Inter shirt. It was a complete effort from him as he helped the Nerazzurri on their way to a win over the Biancocelesti at San Siro. His first thought after was on the celebration after his goal.
“We celebrated like that and all hugged together because we really feel this and we’re a team. We’re united, we showed great character and played well. This is who we are.”
Lautaro's comments after the game to Sky Sport and Inter TV covered his thoughts on the match: “Lazio came into the game after winning six in a row, we were compact on and off the ball and we were able to hurt them. Everyone gave their best, I’m very happy because we’re now where we want to be. We’ve worked a lot to be here.
“Romelu? He played in a great ball for me, he always does a great job for the team. But everyone always only thinks about the team. Now, we’ll obviously focus on the derby as we move forward match by match. We’re top but, like the Coach said, this is only a starting point.”
