MILAN – FC Internazionale Milano and Suning International have made a further donation of one million protective masks to the National Civil Protection Department.
An initial 200,000 masks are already in Italy and in the process of being distributed to all Italian regions. The remaining masks will be shipped in batches in coming weeks, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Beijing.
The donation represents a significant new measure designed to support Italy and joins a range of initiatives unveiled by the club as part of #TogetherAsATeam. The crowdfunding campaign has raised €658,000 for the Luigi Sacco Hospital in Milan in the space of a week, following on from a €100,000 donation given to the same hospital – which is working on the front line of the emergency in Milan – in early March. On top of this, the campaign enabled the donation of 300,000 masks and other medical equipment to the National Civil Protection Department. Furthermore, in order to support the people of China, 300,000 masks have been donated to the city of Wuhan, while the Inter players wore jerseys with special patches dedicated to China during the last Milan derby match.
