MILAN - It was Assistant Coach Cristian Stellini who spoke to journalists after today’s stalemate with Cagliari: “Conte didn’t have the energy to talk, he’s not very well and may be suffering from the same flu that Skriniar has gone down with.
“You need clarity and concentration in the closing minutes of games, because it only takes a small something to change a game. We weren’t good at finishing the chances we had to kill the game off. There’s no need to be frantic, we have to take all our chances the best we can.
“We can’t allow this situation where we get caught out at the end of a game to repeat itself. This cannot happen; we need to work on it.”
A word on the nerves of the closing minutes: “The referee wasn’t very good at keeping everyone calm. He kept the same yardstick throughout the game and as a result we got four excessive yellows. He probably ought to have changed his tune in the closing minutes considering the tension out there on the pitch.
“Now we go again in the Coppa Italia: an important match however you look at it. We want to do well.”
