Gianluca Pagliuca turns 54 today. The former Inter shot-stopper, who joined the club in the summer of 1994, managed to both continue the tradition of extraordinary goalkeepers at this Club and to enter into the hearts of fans thanks to his saves, his assuredness between the sticks and his personality.
“I always felt strong when there was a penalty. I knew I had nothing to lose and I could become the hero of the game.”
He played 234 times for Inter and was key to the UEFA Cup win in 1997/98 and in ten Milan Derbys, without ever being defeated.
“I played ten of them in Serie A and never lost one. I’m proud of that. I very proud, I’ll be remembered for never having lost a #DerbyMilano.”
Happy Birthday to Gianluca Pagliuca from everyone here at Inter.
