REGGIO EMILIA – Alexis, yet again. Against Torino, he started the Nerazzurri's comeback and against Sassuolo he got Inter on their way. His goal came just 185 seconds after the whistle had blown. The Chilean confirmed his fitness and form with an exceptionally good overall performance.
His second goal of the season is his sixth in Serie A whilst wearing an Inter shirt. It’s also the first time he has opened the scoring. Furthermore, Sanchez previously hadn’t scored for two consecutive league fixtures since December 2017, back when he was at Arsenal.
After the match, the Chilean spoke to Sky Sport, giving his thoughts on the Nerazzurri's display at the Mapei Stadium: "We often play well but can be lacking in the finer details. There are some things we need to fix, but we’re doing what is being asked of us by the Coach. In my opinion, we’re on the right track."
"I love football, and obviously the more I play the better I feel. I'm part of a great team and I want to continue like this. I want to make myself useful for the team. I think we were a bit timid against Real Madrid. However, I feel confident because we’ve got a lot of great players. Regardless of our opponents, we’ve got to try to find a way to win."
