MADRID – Sat alongside Antonio Conte, Arturo Vidal shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash with Zidane’s Real Madrid from the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, answering questions from journalists ahead of matchday 3 in this season’s Champions League Group B. The match is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 21:00 CET.
In your first experience in Italian football you scored a lot. This year you are in a slightly different position, how do you feel? Do you think you can score as much?
I am happy to be here and to do what the coach asks me. I used to score a lot of goals before but now I have to give my best, do what the coach asks and always put the team first.
What memories do you have of the last time in which you faced Real Madrid with Bayern Munich?
I was very angry because if we had gone there with pride, we could have won the Champions League, but tomorrow is another match, a challenge in which we have to give our best. I really want to win, and we can fight for it.
Zidane talked about the match as a final, how do you feel about it?
For us, whether it’s a league game or a Champions League match every fixture is like a final. Tomorrow will be a very intense match. It is always nice to face a strong team like Real Madrid but for us all challenges are like a final. It is a good match, against a team that I have faced several times. We have to give our best.
