Quotes from the Coach after the 2-2 draw at the Bentegodi: "We're strong in certain areas but have some flaws, we need to improve in order to not throw away so many points"

VERONA - "In terms of their commitment and determination, I can’t fault my players at all. We played against a team whose high-tempo game is the best weapon they have and gave as good as we got. There’s regret at having conceded a goal with five minutes to go from a throw-in. We would have deserved to win the game because Verona only had one effort in the second half, and this resulted in a goal.” This is what Antonio Conte had to say to Sky following Inter’s 2-2 draw at the Bentegodi against Hellas Verona.

The Inter Coach continued: “We’re working hard and I think that the work we are doing can be seen on the pitch, but we need to reflect on the fact that we’ve lost so many points from winning positions. This must provide us with the motivation to improve. Building up experience should help us to manage certain situations better, because at times we start struggling too easily. However, we’re the team that has scored the most goals since the restart, with the statistics also pointing to the fact that we’ve been the most dangerous team. We’ve improved in terms of territorial dominance and ball possession, but picking up results is the most important thing. In this respect, the table tells us that we’ve dropped too many points in our last few matches. We’re strong in certain areas but also have some flaws, we’ll try to make the most out of every situation.”

To finish off, Conte talked about Lukaku’s condition, with the Belgian striker being taken off 31 minutes into the second half: “He had an adductor problem. We hope that it’s nothing serious, Romelu is an important player for us.”
