MILAN - The second instalment of our special #Timeless2010 edition of Inter Voice took place today on Inter’s social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), as fans were challenged to guess four players from our 2009/10 squad from their voices.
Here are the answers:
1 – THIAGO MOTTA
Thiago Motta was the first player behind today’s #Timeless2010 edition of Inter Voice. The selected clip takes us back to his post-match interview from Inter vs. Bologna on 3 April 2010, a game where our midfielder scored his first-ever brace in a Nerazzurri shirt. The first was a superb strike from outside the area with his left to give us the lead, while his second killed the game off at 3-0: a great team goal started by Chivu, who played it to Stankovic before Motta tucked away to decide the match.
2 – WESLEY SNEIJDER
Just six minutes of the game had been played when Sneijder scored one of the most important goals of our 2009/10 Champions League campaign, as his low driven free kick from 25 yards out was enough to secure a win over CSKA Moscow and a place in the semi-finals for the Nerazzurri. The selected clip comes from our Dutchman’s post-match interview, as Sneijder revealed his emotions at entering into the top four clubs in Europe after the final whistle.
3 – WALTER SAMUEL
The third voice in our quiz saw us travel back to 2 May 2010 at the end of Lazio vs. Inter, a game thrust open by Walter “The Wall” Samuel’s goal. This was our Argentinian defender’s 100th league appearance in a Nerazzurri shirt, and he chose to celebrate it in spectacular fashion by scoring the opener at the Olimpico with a stunning header to beat Muslera after Sneijder’s perfect cross into the middle.
4 – JULIO CESAR
Added time of the #DerbyMilano on 24 January 2010. Inter up by two goals, down to nine men, and desperately seeking to bring home the three points. Ronaldinho steps up to the spot to take the penalty. But in front of him stood the final player behind today’s Inter Voice challenge: Julio Cesar.
