MILAN – The first instalment of Inter Voice #Timeless special edition was released today, with four voices to decipher. The aim of the challenge launched on Inter’s social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) was to guess which four players from the 2009/10 squad were hidden behind the proposed phrases.
Here are the answers:
1 – DEJAN STANKOVIC
The ‘Dragon’, Dejan Stankovic, is the first voice of the Inter Voice #Timeless2010 challenge. In the few spoken seconds the ex-Serbian midfielder recounts his emotions from the 4-0 #DerbyMilano win on 29 August 2009. It was Sneijder’s Nerazzurri debut after his arrival at Inter just hours before the game and it remains one of the greatest matches in recent Nerazzurri history. Goals from Thiago Motta, Milito, Maicon and Stankovic’s powerful right-footed strike from range decided the outcome of that game.
2 – MAICON
The ‘Colossus’, Douglas Sisenando Maicon, is the second voice in this challenge. His interview retraces one of the key moments along the way to conquering the Treble in the moments after the Barcelona vs. Inter match. It was a hard-fought match full of sacrifice in which time had no rules, and after the 3-1 first leg win at San Siro the sweetest defeat at the Camp Nou sent Inter through to the final, where they beat Bayern Munich.
3 – DIEGO MILITO
The third voice takes us back to the afternoon of 16 May in 2010 and it belongs to ‘El Principe’, Diego Milito, who was a key player of that Inter side. The Argentine’s right-footed shot low into the bottom corner against Siena sealed victory and handed Inter their 18th Scudetto title. Then on 22nd May, his double decided the Champions League Final in Madrid.
4 – SAMUEL ETO’O
The final voice is that of Samuel Eto’o. The Cameroonian’s word express all his joy after the final whistle on that magical night in Madrid, which secured the second consecutive Treble for Eto’o himself. At the end of it all he said thank you to his teammates, as well as a sentence that summed up the Nerazzurri’s feat: “We had the right team to win it all, thanks to everyone at Inter.”
