DELVING DEEPER
Stefano Sensi was born in Urbino on 5 August 1995. He became part of Rimini's youth setup before moving to Cesena and then San Marino, where he played Lega Pro football. It was here where the Spanish coach Fernando De Argila gave him the captain's armband. He primarily played in an attacking midfield role and was able to get on the scoresheet on a number of occasions: ten goals in 61 matches to be precise. After a season at Cesena, he was signed by Sassuolo in 2016. In 2019, he joined Inter.
Sensi made his Nerazzurri debut on 26 August 2019 on matchday one in Serie A: Inter 4-0 Lecce was the final score, with the Italian scoring a great goal for the team's second. Sensi made a very bright start to his Nerazzurri career, scoring three goals (against Lecce, Udinese and Sampdoria) and providing two assists in Inter's first six league fixtures. He also won a penalty against Cagliari.
So far this season, Sensi has made twelve appearances in Serie A, three in the Champions League and two in the Coppa Italia. He's completed an impressive 86.6% of his passes in the Italian top flight this campaign and has also had 21 attempts at goal.
