Women’s Serie A, Inter 2 - 2 Pink Bari

SOLBIATE ARNO - A second-half equaliser broke hearts for Coach Sorbi’s Inter, who couldn’t quite get the three points in their 2-2 draw with Pink Bari. Lisa Alborghetti and Regina Baresi got the goals for the Nerazzurre, the latter netting a first-half penalty.

Our girls got off to a great start, Lisa Alborghetti’s header taking Inter ahead after just six minutes following a Beatrice Merlo set-piece. Pink Bari responded straight away however, Novellino header home from a corner to draw the game level. Another chance fell to Inter in the 15th minute as Pandini tried one from distance, but Myllyoja did well to keep her out. Inter kept on pushing as Debever headed wide, and our lead was restored just before half-time as Regina Baresi sent Myllyoja the wrong way from the spot.

The second half saw more Inter action in attack, with Gloria Marinelli striking the crossbar from distance, but the goal didn’t come and instead it was Pink Bari who scored next, Novellino netting in the 58th minute. The Nerazzurre threatened again in the 67th minute after Lisa Alborghetti’s header following a set-piece, but Myllyoja saved. Then came a chance for Pink Bari as Helmvall went through one-on-one, but Aprile was alive to save. Marinelli struck the crossbar once again in the 73rd minute with a header. Despite the Nerazzurre pushing hard for a goal at the end of the game seeking the win, the match ended 2-2.
