To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the players' names will be written in Chinese characters and the numbers will have a pattern bearing the traditional “FU” 福 character

MILAN - During Inter vs. Cagliari on Sunday, a match which will kick off at 12:30 CET at the Meazza, the Nerazzurri will take to the pitch wearing a special shirt to celebrate the Chinese New Year. As was also the case last year, the players' names will be written in Chinese characters. However, for the first time, the numbers will have a pattern bearing the traditional “FU”  character, a typical message of good luck, done in different styles of Chinese calligraphy.

It won’t be the first time that Chinese characters have appeared on the Inter shirt. In past seasons, Pirelli, one of Nerazzurri’s sponsors, was written in Chinese. This was the case during Inter vs. Cagliari in 2008, while this initiative also took place in 2006 and 2007 against Chievo and Livorno respectively and also for the 2009 Supercoppa Italiana clash against Lazio in Beijing.

The special shirts will be available to buy from the Club’s Official Online Store.
