The words of the Nerazzurri CEO for Sport ahead of Inter vs. Atalanta

MILAN - In the pre-match build-up to Inter vs. Atalanta, Nerazzurri CEO for Sport Giuseppe Marotta made the following statements while speaking to DAZN: “We’re experiencing something extraordinary right now and we’re very happy with the turnout at San Siro: we’d like to thank the Inter fans who are always great in their numbers. Their support is fundamental, especially in difficult times.”

With plenty of questions on the transfer market, Marotta explained: “There are a lot of names and rumours floating about, but there’s nothing official. As I’ve always said, this is a poor market consisting of opportunities. As a result, we need to evaluate how we can improve the squad with quality signings.

“Eriksen is an interesting name, he has a contract expiring in June but we haven’t entered into any negotations with the club or his agent.”

In answer to questions about Ashley Young and Olivier Giroud, Marotta responded: “These are two names that are circulating, I don’t think we’ll be able to do anything in a very short time period: we have to evaluate every situation, there are objective and evaluative difficulties. Today’s group are top of the table and they have to be respected. We’re not anxious about having to make any deals tomorrow, let’s see if we can seize any opportunities that come our way.”
