NYON – Ludogorets will be Inter’s opponents at the round of 32 stage of the UEFA Europa League. Nerazzurri Vice-President Javier Zanetti had the following to say about the draw: “We need to prepare for these two fixtures in the best possible way because nothing can be taken for granted in Europe. A lot will depend on the conditions of the two sides in February. However, we’re focusing on finishing 2019 well in the league at the moment, although the Europa League is an important competition which we want to be protagonists in. There was disappointment at being eliminated from the Champions League but now we need to focus our energies on the league, Coppa Italia and Europa League, which needs to be an objective for us. Given what we did in the group, it was disappointing to finish in third place, but we need to continue to work like we’re doing, all the while remembering that this is the beginning of a new journey and there’s still room to improve and grow.
“We’re very happy with Antonio Conte’s work and his working culture. The passion that he manages to transmit to everyone is very important for a team like ours, one which wants to return to competing for big objectives. Antonio is well-prepared and intelligent, and we’re really pleased with what he’s doing. We need to carry on in this manner, I’m sure the side is on the right path. The injuries we’ve picked up haven’t helped us at this stage of the season, but we’re capable of competing on all fronts, even if it won’t be easy. We hope to get all the players in the squad back fit, we’ll be ready because there’s the right attitude. Everyone feels important and wants to make a contribution. In order to aim for major objectives, it’s vital to have a united group that works in this direction.”
