MILAN – Following the back-to-back matches against Borussia Dortmund, Inter are now set to face Slavia Prague in the fifth Group F match of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League.
The 21:00 CET kick-off on Wednesday 27th November will be the second European meeting of the two sides following the 1-1 draw at the start of this Champions League campaign.
Jindřich Trpišovský’s side picked up their other point in the group away against Barcelona at the Camp Nou while Inter’s other three points stem from the win at the Stadio Meazza over Borussia Dortmund thanks to Lautaro Martinez and Candreva goals.
The Argentine forward has scored in his last three Champions League appearances and could become the fifth Argentine to find the net in four consecutive matches after Hernan Crespo (2002), Lionel Messi (six occasions), Sergio Agüero (2019) and Ezequiel Lavezzi (2013).
In the main UEFA competition, Slavia Prague have never won in their four matches against Italian sides (two draws, two losses) although they beat Palermo 2-1 in February 2006 in the UEFA Cup.
Slavia Prague and Inter are first and second respectively in their respective leagues. Trpišovský’s side remain unbeaten in the league with three draws and 14 wins, scoring 36 goals, conceding only three and they’ve kept 14 clean sheets. For Antonio Conte’s Inter, there have been eleven wins, one defeat and one draw with 29 goals scored and twelve conceded.
TRIVIA Nicolò Barella and Josef Hušbauer were teammates at Cagliari. In the second part of the 2014-15 season, the Czech midfielder made two Serie A appearances for the Sardinians.
