MILAN - The Champions League is back! Finally, the elite European competition with all of the biggest names makes its return as Slavia Prague make their way to San Siro. Here are all the facts and statistics about the game, in collaboration with Opta.
This will be the first ever meeting between Inter and Slavia Prague in official competitions. Italian sides have only lost twice in their 12 matches against teams from the Czech Republic in the Champions League (5W, 5D), one of these coming in December last year as Roma lost 2-1 to Viktoria Plzen.
Slavia Prague are taking part in the Champions League finals for only the second time in their history, the first in 2007/08. The team who play in red and white secured qualification this season after defeating Cluj in the play-offs (final score 2-0 on aggregate).
Slavia Prague have only won one of their six Champions League games: their first, which came in September 2007 against Steaua Bucharest with a 2-1 win at home (2D, 3L).
The team from Prague have failed to score in all of their last five matches against Italian sides in European competitions (491 minutes without a goal).
