Happy Birthday, Fenomeno!

MILAN - For Inter fans (and others too) who experienced it, the summer of 1997 was an unforgettable one. After complicated negotiations, Massimo Moratti’s Inter signed Ronaldo Luis Nazario da Lima from Barcelona for a record fee of 48 Billion Lire. The deal saw the Nerazzurri fans immediately fall for the Brazilian who was the best player in the world at the time.

Despite often being waylaid by injury, Ronaldo showed all of his quality during five seasons at Inter, leaving memories of pure footballing joy. Overall, he made 99 appearances, scoring 59 goals and he won the 1997-98 UEFA Cup. In March, he entered the club’s Hall of Fame.
