— Sep 14th 2018Positive start for the Under-19s who claimed the three points thanks to a Mulattieri goal in the 90th minute
MILAN- A goal from Samuele Mulattieri in the 90th minute allowed Inter to start the 2018-19 Primavera 1 TIM season with a win. Three important points on the opening day will now allow Armando Madonna's side to prepare for the Youth League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in the best of ways.
At the Suning Youth Development Centre, Inter controlled possession but the first real chance fell for the visitors. Lella connected well with his header but Dekic did brilliantly to save before getting up and making the ball his. The game was balanced after the half-hour mark but the guests were more dangerous and Dekic was alert again in the 31st to save a weak shot from Lombardi. Inter came alive at the end of the half, From a corner, Nolan connected well with his head but Daga saved with his right hand. Straight after, Adorante let fly with an acrobatic effort but it went over.
The second half began with Cagliari on the attack. There was contact in the box between Nolan and Doradiotto and the away side were awarded a penalty. However, Dekic made a wonderful stop from Lombardi. Inter looked to respond straight away but Mulattieri couldn’t connect cleanly from close range. In the 67th minute, the Nerazzurri posed a real threat. Mulattieri was set up by Colidio who fired across goal but Daga tipped the shot onto the post.
Just when it seemed destined to finish 0-0, Inter scored in the 90th minute. Tibo Persyn crossed from the right with Mulattieri getting on the end of it to win it for the Nerazzurri. Armando Madonna’s side will be back in action on Tuesday at 14:00 CEST for the first match in Group B of the UEFA Youth League.
