Presenting the new partnership for the next two seasons 2018-2020

MILAN - FC Internazionale Milano and Mastercard can today announce their two-year deal for 2018-20, giving life to a new project that will allow the two partners to progress with their shared passion for sport. They’ll work together on important initiatives to support innovation and solidarity, starting in the city of Milan and then the world.

“Passion for football can unite people all across the world, without distinctions of culture, society or age,” said Michele Centemero, Country Manager for Mastercard Italia. “We are proud to play this match with a great club like Inter. We share the same values, help make our cities increasingly advanced and also support projects of social solidarity. This great project will include all of our fans and consumers.”

Javier Zanetti also commented on the new deal: "For us, it’s an important partnership at the right time with the return to the Champions League which is a competition sponsored by MasterCard. It’s an honour to start with this collaboration. Both for ourselves and Mastercard, to be a part of this event is very important, let’s hope we keep moving forward together for a long time."

“Social initiatives and commercial partnerships have become increasingly relevant in terms of the daily running of our club,”  said Alessandro Antonello, CEO of FC Internazionale Milano. “Therefore, we are extremely pleased to link up with Mastercard, a prestigious partner who have strong links to both solidarity and football. We are proud to be the first football club to sign such an agreement with Mastercard. We are also now happy to announce that we’ve qualified for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League, which is a historic partner of Mastercard." In addition to football and sport, the two organisations also share other key values that contribute towards the spirit of this new partnership and ‘Start Something Priceless’ - a new Mastercard concept: innovation, solidarity and a Priceless experience.

Innovation

In this project, Mastercard will take charge of technology and Inter will be responsible for the city of Milan and the Stadio San Siro. The two partners will work together to transform and revolutionise the stadium experience for fans and football lovers alike. During all of our home matches in the league and Coppa Italia, fans will be able to access exclusive services to make their match experience even more special. Through the app, they’ll be able to buy tickets, gain access to the stadium and have fast gate access. During match intervals, sales points will be cashless and fans will also be able to pay contactless, guaranteeing speed, simplicity and safety at all times.

Solidarity

Two players sharing the aim of Corporate Social Responsibility. Mastercard has years of experience working with international partners on projects, such as the World Food Programme with United Nations, confirming their commitment to initiatives in developing countries. Meanwhile, Inter have experience in promoting ‘Inter in the Community’. This two-year partnership will see campaigns take place to raise funds, as both organisations seek to have a significant social impact.

Priceless experiences

This partnership will allow both organisations to enrich exclusive experiences for consumers, Inter fans and all Mastercard cardholders. The youngest fans will be able to accompany their idols out onto the pitch, while fans will have the chance to attend the most important away games thanks to special travel packages. This will include ‘meet and greet’ sessions with players at training sessions and before the match. Lastly, Mastercard and Inter also have yet more priceless experiences: tours of the stadium and the Suning Training Centre at Appiano Gentile. This will include a trip to the team’s trophy room and a meet and greet session with Club legends and Nerazzurri directors.
