TURIN - Coppitelli’s Torino side beat the Nerazzurri Under-19s at the Stadio Filadelfia on Tuesday, succeeding thanks to goals from Bianchi and Celeghin. An initial equaliser from Facundo Colidio was not enough for Stefano Vecchi’s outfit, who now remain second behind Atalanta in the Primavera 1 TIM standings.
The match began with hesitancy from Inter and Torino, as they both opted to study each other intently rather than racing forward in attack.
However, the first 30 minutes still saw Inter threaten on two occasions; first through Rover and then through Rada. Despite this positivity from the visitors, Torino managed to make the breakthrough with their first chance of the game. De Angelis triggered a counter-attacker for the Granata, before Bianchi then left Pissardo with no chance with an accurate finish. The hosts had an opportunity to double their lead not long after, although Pissardo was on hand to make a strong double save.
Torino began the second half strongly and instantly looked to snatch another goal. However, unfazed by this opening pressure, Inter retook control of the game and soon equalised through Colidio. The Argentine capitalised well on a ball from Brignoli before firing a solid right-footed strike past Coppola.
The remainder of the second half was played out with little action, although Torino managed to snatch a winner late on through Celeghini, as he headed home following a corner-kick from Kone.
