The Nerazzurri Coach at his press conference: "We need three points from the Hellas Verona match to approach the derby with Milan in the best way"

APPIANO GENTILE - It was time for Luciano Spalletti’s press conference at the Suning Training Centre a day ahead of the league match against Hellas Verona. "We need a win against the Veneti in order to approach the #DerbyMilano in the best way possible. Therefore, we must only think about the first of these two games. Again tomorrow, we’ll have 60,000 fans there to support us. San Siro is our home, the opponents must feel in difficulty there and not us. My aim is to get the most out of my players and through that, to finish as high as possible in the table. I believe that there is still something more that we can show, we have great potential and a very important objective to reach in satisfying the 60,000 fans who will be there again tomorrow to support us and that must push us on further towards the aforementioned goal."

There were also some comments on Walter Sabatini: "His recent resignation has created some noise about him as a person and a professional. Personally, I’m really unhappy about it because I know him well. I hope to see him in person soon to say goodbye. That said, anyone working for Inter must put Inter ahead of anything else."

Naturally, questions were asked about the transfer market. "Judgements are being made for the transfer market. We have some players in the squad that we don’t own and there are others that we do own who aren’t here. There’s a lot to evaluate."

Luciano Spalletti then discussed events from the past week. "I have to congratulate Stefano Vecchi for the Viareggio Cup win. I often find myself congratulating him for his successes, I hope that it will be the other way around soon."

The passing away of Emiliano Mondonico? "He was a wonderful person, very honest and direct. He was a Coach who was able to launch some players who became very important for Italian football. I join all of those who are close to his family at this sad time."

Finally, the Nerazzurri Coach offered a personal thought on how he’s finding things. "I really like Inter and Milan as a place. I’m very happy to work here and I want to leave my mark. If at the end of the season, we fail to reach our objective, it will be something that sticks with us forever."
