Photos and quotes from Inter's 110th Anniversary Annual book launch

Milan – The Inter 110th Anniversary Annual - Inter's official book, published by Skira and celebrating 110 years of the Nerazzurri – was officially launched today at the Tempo di Libri exhibition at Fiera Milano City.

In a packed hall, Massimo Moratti, Javier Zanetti and Gianfelice Facchetti relived Inter's glorious history, recounting their personal memories and anecdotes. The Nerazzurri vice president, newly inaugurated into the Inter Hall of Fame, was the editor of the book and commented, “Inter is simply part of my life. It's a huge honour for me to have contributed to the great success of this club. Since my first day here, I've viewed Inter like a family with a really strong sense of belonging, in large part thanks to the Moratti family's love for the club. As a personal connection, I have fond memories of Giacinto Facchetti, the father of Gianfelice who is here today. Every single page of this book made me feel emotional.”

Along with Gianpiero Lotito, Gianfelice Facchetti is the co-author of the Inter 110th Anniversary Annual. He said, “It was wonderful to create this book, going through a 110-year history that tells how we Inter fans live football, something that's different from any other club. We look at the Grande Inter team, the Treble in 2010, but also at the origins of the club and its first successes. Nothing in our history has ever been boring, because Inter is at the forefront. During the last 110 years, we have also lived through a lot of difficult moments but we have done so without ever trying to cheat or cut corners.”

Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello was also present. He commented, “I'm sincerely honoured to fulfil the role as the main administrator at this club. We work every day to create a future inspired by the past. Our founding fathers gave us great values and we want to go back to winning our way.”

There was an emotional interjection from Massimo Moratti at the end of the ceremony: “We are all here in this room united by respect, cooperation and friendship. We are united by a common thread: Inter. Above and beyond a huge love for Inter, my father gave me a moral duty and a will to do things properly that I always stick to. The years of my presidency were fantastic years, even in difficult moments which formed the character of the supporters who then found a positive explosion with some great victories. Our successes were built over years; we suffered but the colours and essence of Inter never meant any less. To be president of Inter was a privilege and an honour. Today there's a new foreign ownership that is strongly involved and wants to do well for Inter. We have to support them all together because I'm certain that we are on the right track to take Inter back to where it belongs.”
