SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – On matchday 20 of the Primavera 1 TIM season, Stefano Vecchi’s Under-19s were able to beat Sampdoria thanks to a goal from Andrea Adorante on 22 minutes. It was a tough and scrappy match but one which allowed the Nerrazzurri to claim three points and move temporarily top of the table. Thoughts and energies now turn to Manchester where the Nerazzurri will face City in the UEFA Youth League Round of 16.
Inter started on the attack and went close on seven minutes with Krapikas saving a left-foot effort from Rover. Halfway through the half, the Nerazzurri took the lead through Andrea Adorante. After a corner from Pompetti, he turned home after Ejjaki cleared off the line from Lombardoni. Inter missed a chance to double the lead on 25 minutes when Rover hit the bar after being played in by Colidio. At the end of the half, Sampdoria were growing into the game and the Blucerchiati were dangerous as Balde forced a good save from Pissardo and Stijepovic then got away from Corrardo but wasn’t able to find a teammate in the box. There was a chance for the Nerazzurri in the 44th minute as Krapikas tipped over from Valietti.
The second half began with Emmers coming on for Colidio and a shot from Pompetti that went wide to the right of Krapikas. On 57 minutes, Samp took a free kick quickly with an incisive ball to Balde but he fired too centrally with Pissardo doing well to not be taken by surprise. The visitors took heart and went close again through Stijepovic and Balde. Ten minutes from the end, Ejjaki tried a shot on the turn that went narrowly to the right of Pissardo’s goal. In stoppage time, Emmers missed a chance to finish things by hitting his attempted finish into the ground. Inter held on for the 1-0 win as Lombardoni and co brought home the three points.
