MILAN – Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport a few minutes ahead of Inter vs. Bologna: “Our objective is to qualify for the Champions League. I won’t deny that we've struggled recently, but our place in the standings is not too bad. We accept criticism; we’ve never talked about the Scudetto. Our objective is the Champions League and we’re still in the running for that. We’re 100 per cent on the same page as our coach. Icardi’s condition? He’s quite well, but it was too risky to let him play today. With so many games left, we decided not to risk him. His contract extension? We’ll talk about it in due time. Candreva underperforming? If Inter haven’t won the league for eight years, it’s a team problem, it isn't down to individual players. Candreva is a great professional and he’ll help the team off the bench as well.".
Finally, Ausilio had a few words on his recent journey to Argentina: "It’s not the right moment to talk about the transfer market. We always have to create solid foundations for the future, let’s just see what happens.”
