Ausilio: "We'll get going again thanks to Pioli's work"

FLORENCE – Piero Ausilio stopped to speak to Mediaset Premium before kick-off in Fiorentina v Inter, fresh from signing a new contract with the club until 2020.

"I thank the club for the confidence they've shown in me," the sporting director began.

"We've improved over the last few years regardless of results, some of which have been down to particular difficulties we've had."

Quizzed about the possible signings, Ausilio said: "We're interested in good players playing in Italy and Europe. We'll make sure we're able to provide the team with what it needs.

“We'll do everything we can to get into Europe. We lacked a bit of belief against Sampdoria and Crotone but our derby performance showed the players don't think our season is over. The other teams aren't dropping many points but we just need to win as many as possible.

“I've seen lots of very good things. We'll get going again thanks to the work Pioli is doing. We're focused on trying to win our last six games.”
