Fiorentina are winless in their last seven Serie A meetings against Inter (D4 L3), after having won five of the previous six (L1). Inter are looking to do the league double over Fiorentina for the first time since 2013/14, under Walter Mazzarri.
Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last six Serie A meetings at the Franchi against Inter (W3 D3) – the last win for the Nerazzurri was back in February 2014.
Fiorentina have their fewest points (22) at this stage of a Serie A season for the first time since 2001/02 (when they were eventually relegated).
In the last six campaigns the Viola have always decreased their points after 20 Serie A matches, starting from 38 points in 2015/16.
Inter have kept a clean sheet in their last three Serie A games: in the last three campaigns, only once have they kept four clean sheets in a row, doing so in their last four games of last season.
Inter have scored the most goals in Serie A this season (49), whilst only Parma (14) have scored fewer than Fiorentina so far (21).
Inter boss Antonio Conte has lost two Serie A matches as a manager against Fiorentina (W5 D3); for the first time he could lose against a single opponent with each of the three sides he has managed in the competition (Atalanta, Juventus and Inter).
Inter duo Romelu Lukaku (14) and Lautaro Martínez (10) have scored a total of 24 goals in Serie A this season, three more than Fiorentina have managed so far.
His next start for Inter will be Romelu Lukaku’s 50th in Serie A. The Belgian striker is currently on 298 career goals for club and country.
