Genoa v Inter

The two teams haven't met in a competitive game at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris since the 1994/95 season. In total there have been 43 meetings in Genoa, with 14 wins for the Rossoblu (last win 2-1 in 1994/95 Serie A), 16 draws (last draw 1-1 in 1992/93 Serie A) and 13 Inter victories (last win 2-1 in 1991/92 Serie A).

Gasperini v Mancini

The only previous meeting between the two coaches was Inter's 4-1 home win over Genoa in the first half of the season.

Disciplinary situation

Disqualified: Leon (Genoa); Materazzi (Inter)
Cautioned: Borriello, Criscito, Paro (Genoa); Cambiasso, Cordoba, Figo, Julio Cesar, Vieira (Inter)

No Genoa home draw since November 2007

Genoa have won 4 home games and lost 4 since their last home draw in the league - a 3-3 stalemate with Palermo on 4 November 2007.

One Genoa clean sheet in last 11 league games

Genoa have kept a clean sheet in just one of their last 11 Serie A fixtures - their 2-0 win over Napoli on 27 February. They have scored a total of 17 goals in the other 10 games.

Gasperini set for 200th match as coach

Gian Piero Gasperini will mark his 200th match as a coach in Wednesday's Serie A fixture against Genoa. He has collected his 199 appearances as coach of Crotone and Genoa (28 in Serie A, 109 in Serie B, 34 in Serie C1, 12 in Coppa Italia, 12 in Coppa Italia C and 4 in other tournaments), winning 92 matches, drawing 47 and losing 60. Gasperini made his coaching debut in Crotone's 3-3 away draw against Taranto in the Serie C Coppa Italia on 17 August 2003.

Best ever season for Borriello

Marco Borriello is having his best ever league season. The Rossoblu striker has scored 16 goals in the Serie A this term, beating his previous best of 10 goals for Treviso (Serie C1) in 2001/02. Borriello is the Serie A's top scorer in 2008 with 8 goals.

Genoa three games without a win

The Rossoblu are without a Serie A victory in three games, having lost 2-1 at Cagliari, 2-0 at home to Juventus and 3-1 away to Fiorentina. If they lose against Inter on Wednesday, it will be the first time Genoa have lost four league matches in a row since their run of 4 Serie B defeats from January to February 2001.

Gasperini & substitutions

Genoa and Cagliari are the only two teams to have used all 84 substitutions after 28 rounds of the 2007/08 Serie A championship.

Fair play Inter

With 49 bookings in 28 rounds of matches, Inter are the most disciplined team taking part in the 2007/08 championship.

Zanetti fourth in all-time list

Javier Zanetti's appearance against Palermo last Sunday was his 416th in the Italian top flight (excluding play-offs). The Argentine defender is fourth in Inter's all-time Serie A appearance list, behind Sandro Mazzola (417), Giacinto Facchetti (475) and Giuseppe Bergomi (519).

Burdisso poised for 100th Inter appearance

Nicolas Andres Burdisso will complete a century of appearances for Inter (his only Italian club) if he is selected to play against Genoa. The Argentine defender, who made his Nerazzurri debut in Atalanta 2-3 Inter on 22 September 2004, has played 64 times in the Serie A, 20 in the Coppa Italia, 14 in European competitions and once in the Italian Super Cup.

Cruz two away from 100th goal

With 98 goals in competitive matches, Julio Ricardo Cruz is just two away from a century of goals for Italian clubs. The Argentine forward, who scored his first Italian goal in Napoli 1-5 Bologna on 22 October 2000, has netted 30 times for the Rossoblu and 68 times for Inter (71 goals in Serie A, 14 in Coppa Italia and 13 in European competitions).

Ibra the decisive

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most decisive player in the 2007/08 championship. His goals have earned the Nerazzurri 22 points.

GENOA - Inter drew 1-1 with Genoa but open up a seven-point gap at the top of the table with nine matches to go as second-place Roma went down 3-2 against Lazio at the Olimpico.

David Suazo scored early on at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris but the Nerazzurri were made to sweat after Pelé was sent off, and Genoa equalised through Borriello in the 86th minute.

Maxwell returned to Inter's starting lineup after recovering from an ankle injury. Mancini handed starts to Pelé and Solari on the wings with Cambiasso and Zanetti in the centre of midfield.

Suazo partnered Ibrahimovic in attack and it was the two strikers who combined for Inter's opening goal on 11 minutes.

Cambiasso picked out Ibrahimovic on the left and the Swede muscled his way past De Rosa before delivering a low cross for the Honduran to tap in his eighth of the season.

Genoa's search for a first-half leveller proved fruitless, Juric sending a long-range drive over the bar before Konko tested Julio Cesar with an angled shot.

Inter's red card curse struck again five minutes before the interval when Pelé was sent off for a second booking after tripping Juric.

Both teams made tactical changes at half time, Genoa bringing on Serie A top scorer Borriello for Santos, and Inter replacing Solari with Rivas.

More substitutions followed, the injured Criscito making way for Lucarelli on 52 minutes and Fabiano replacing De Rosa just after Mancini swapped Suazo for Cruz.

Genoa made the extra man count during a second-half siege that Inter looked to have survived until Borriello snatched a late equaliser, volleying home on the turn after Julio Cesar kept out Juric's angled shot.
