Roma on target at home for over a year

The Giallorossi haven't failed to score in front of their own fans since losing 1-0 to Valencia in the Champions League on 18 February 2003. Since that date, Capello's side have played 27 official matches and scored a total of 60 goals.

Totti chasing record

With his goal at Parma last Sunday, Francesco Totti netted his 14th goal of the Serie A season so far to equal his personal record. The Roma captain has 11 matches to score his 15th and set a new record of strikes in one season.

Capello's lean machine

Roma are the 2003/04 Serie A team that have used the fewest number of substitutes. Out of a possible 69 switches in 23 matches, Capello has made 56 substitutions. Despite this curious record, Antonio Cassano is the most substituted player. The talented young forward from Bari has been replaced on 16 occasions.

Inter close to negative record

With three consecutive defeats in the Serie A (against Udinese, AC Milan and Brescia), the Nerazzurri are close to their all-time record of reverse results in the Italian top flight. Inter have lost five matches in a row on three occasions, the last of which was in 1956/57.

No Nerazzurri away win since December

Inter haven't won a competitive away match since last 14 December when they beat the Rossoblu 2-0. Since then the Nerazzurri have played 9 matches on the road, collecting 6 draws and 3 defeats.

Inter: 98 goals away to Roma

The Nerazzurri are two away from a century of goals in matches played away to Roma. The first was scored by the legendary Giuseppe Meazza in the 58th minute of Roma 2-1 Inter, a Serie A match played on 14 December 1930 (the same date as Inter's last away win in the current season).

Cristiano Zanetti set for 200th appearance

If he plays at the Olimpico, former Roma player Cristiano Zanetti will celebrate his 200th match as a professional footballler. So far, the Hammer has collected 115 appearances in the Serie A, 52 in the Serie B, 7 in the Coppa Italia and 25 in European cup competitions. Zanetti made his debut in Fiorentina's 2-1 defeat at Foggia on 14 May 1995, and besides the Viola has also played for Venezia, Reggiana, Inter, Cagliari and Roma.

ROME - Sunday evening's Serie A Week 24 clash between Roma and Inter at the Olimpico finished 4-1 in favour of the Giallorossi.

Roma had the first of three goals disallowed on 5 minutes with Emerson in an offside position when he netted from a Cassano pass. Minutes later Adriano controlled Helveg's centre from the right then saw his low, diagonal shot come back off the far post.

After two more goals ruled out, it was fourth time lucky for the Giallorossi on the stroke of half time when Cassano shielded Totti's weighted pass from two Nerazzurri then demonstrated technique with a cool finish to the right of Toldo.

A subdued Inter suffered from Roma's midfield superiority in the early stages of the restart and Brazilian winger Mancini increased Roma's lead in the 58th minute when he found space in the Inter box after turning Adani then sent a left-foot shot past Toldo before Cordoba could make a challenge.

Zaccheroni brought on Martins for Adriano then Karagounis for Kily Gonzalez, and both substitutes breathed life into the Nerazzurri's game. The Greek international went close to a spectacular first goal for Inter, sending his ferocious long-distance strike inches wide of the right post, then Martins' shot from inside the area took a deflection and fell to the feet of Vieri, who smashed home at the far post to give Zaccheroni's side a lifeline.

The home side soaked up fifteen minutes of black and blue pressure then won a penalty kick with three minutes left on the clock. Ivan Cordoba was sent marching for a last-man foul on Cassano, and Giallorossi captain Totti stepped up to send his spot kick to the right of Toldo.

With the result already safe, Mancini added his second in the third minute of added time, a tap-in at the far post after Cassano had dribbled Helveg on the left before crossing.

The Nerazzurri play away to Benfica on Thursday in the first leg of the Uefa Cup fourth round.
