Career Story
Lifting the World Cup trophy, fulfilling a lifelong dream and becoming an icon of her country forever. This is the story of Ivana Andrés, Inter Women's new defender. Full of ambition, her strong roots have contributed to her journey. Hard work, a spirit of sacrifice and tenacity are all characteristics that set her apart.
It all began in a small Spanish municipality in the Valencian community, Aielo de Malferit, where she was born and raised. A community of 4000 people where her innate leadership qualities found fertile ground and where she began to kick the ball for the first time. From early on, she dreamed of becoming a footballer.
After playing for Aielo de Malferi's team, she joined Valencia aged 15 in 2009. Years of personal and professional growth followed as she chased her ambitions and dreams. She remained at Valencia for nine seasons, scoring seven goals in 247 appearances. In 2018/19, she moved to Levante, where she played for two years before signing for Real Madrid. At Las Blancas, she became the player she is today, leading the team as captain. Across four seasons in Madrid, she scored three goals in 137 matches and was a truly indispensable figure in the side.
2023 was the best year of her career: Spain became world champions for the first time in history, and Ivana, as captain, lifted the trophy to the sky, much to the delight of the entire country. It was an incredible achievement that arrived after many years of hard work in the Spain shirt, which she first wore in 2015. A charismatic figure and a winner, Ivana Andrés is ready to bring all her experience to Inter. Her Nerazzurre adventure is now beginning.
