Gianpiero
Piovani
Career Story
Gianpiero Piovani was born in Orzinuovi on 12 June 1968. Football was in his thoughts from a very early age, and he was always destined to become a player. Following his youth career, he made his debut for Brescia against Maradona’s Napoli in Serie A on 14 September 1986. Truly unforgettable.
A quick and technical striker, he spent the majority of his career playing Serie A and Serie B football, notably becoming a key figure for Piacenza, where he played for eleven seasons. As a coach, he narrowly missed out on winning the Scudetto with Brescia Femminile in 2017/18 following a penalty shootout play-off defeat to Juventus. That same campaign, however, his side beat Fiorentina to win the Supercoppa Italiana. In the following six seasons, he remained in the women’s Serie A division, coaching Sassuolo for the entire period.
