Career Story

Beatrice Merlo was born in Milan on 23 February 1999. A powerful right-back, she makes speed her distinguishing factor.

Beatrice started playing football at the age of four, together with her brother, for the men's team of Parma Calcio in Milan. At the age of seven she moved on to Masseroni, where she stayed for four seasons. She was born as a central defender, but due to her speed she was moved to the flank.

From 2014 she wore the colours of ASD Femminile Inter Milano, the year in which she made her debut, with a goal, in Serie A against Brescia. She wore the club's jersey until 2018, when Inter withdrew its sporting title. With FC Internazionale Milano she won the Serie B championship last year and made her Serie A debut on 14 September 2019, in the home match against Hellas Verona.

With the U17 national team Beatrice took part in the 2014 European Championship and third place at the World Cup in Costa Rica. With the U19 jersey she played the final phase of the European Championship in Northern Ireland in 2017. She is often called up with the U23 team and in November 2019 she received her first call-up from the senior national team.
