Career Story
Experience and determination: With his arrival at the Nerazzurri, Francesco Acerbi opens a new chapter in his professional career. His professional career began in the ranks at Pavia, which was the start of a long apprenticeship and the foundations of a career built piece by piece. After loans at Renate and Spezia, he returned to Serie B signing for Reggina, where he became a pillar of their defensive line.
The following year he made the step-up to Serie A, for the first time. He wore the Chievo jersey, making his debut in the top flight, then a short stint at AC Milan before a five-year spell with Sassuolo, where he established himself as one of the best-performing defenders in the league, also earning a call-up to the national side.
The 2018-19 season saw his arrival in Rome, on the Biancoceleste side, where he won an Italian Cup and an Italian Super Cup with Lazio. He then added the title of European champion with the Italian national team to his trophy collection in the summer of 2021.
In the summer of 2022, he arrived at Inter. He collected 49 appearances and scored a decisive goal against Parma in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup. By the end of the season, he had added another Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup to his list of achievements.
