— Feb 15th 2024At Appiano Gentile, two young patients presented Inter's captain, Lautaro Martínez, with two special personalized footballs during an art therapy project.
Fabiana and Edoardo, two young patients from Centro Maria Letizia Verga, spent a special day with a nerazzurri touch alongside their doctor, Marco Spinelli, a pediatric hematologist, responsible for the psychosocial area.
At the Centro Sportivo Suning, they had the opportunity to hand over to Inter's captain, Lautaro Martínez, two footballs decorated by the children and teenagers hospitalized in the pediatric oncology ward. The hand-painted footballs are the result of an art therapy project supported by the Comitato Maria Letizia Verga together with the ARTis association, focusing on the value of teamwork: in a series of steps from room to room, each patient was invited to decorate a hexagon of a football, unleashing their imagination and abilities and turning that small piece into a window to their imagination.
During the visit, Fabiana and Edoardo had the opportunity to meet and take some photos with some players, coach Inzaghi, and his staff. On this unforgettable day, Fabiana met again with the nerazzurro winger Carlos Augusto, whom she had met in December at Centro Maria Letizia Verga in Monza during Inter's traditional day dedicated to young patients and pediatric ward staff in Milan hospitals on Christmas.
Indeed, for years Inter has been collaborating with Comitato Maria Letizia Verga, actively supporting the association's projects, which since 1979 have aimed to improve the overall quality of life for children affected by hematological diseases, through initiatives, stadium invitations, and on-field moments with the collaboration of Inter Campus.
