The return from the International Break couldn't have gone any better for Inzaghi's Inter: 5-0 away to Hellas and now leading in the league - albeit just for the moment. Five goals in the first half, for a match which was finished within the first 41 minutes, as Verona couldn't find a way back. The statistics from the clash tell a striking story of the nerazzurri's win: seven shots on target with five goals, demonstrating incredible efficiency in the opponent's half. Then there's the domination of the ball: 70% possession, a season record in Serie A for the total number of passes, 798. The precision rate was 93.6%, a sign that the game was always a love, De Vrij was subbed on in the 15th minute and was a key instigator, achieving another record, that of the amount of passes made in a match this season, 140.
FIVE GOALS IN ONE HALF
Inter scored at least five goals in the first half of an away match for the second time in their history in the top flight, after the 5-1 win against Sampdoria, 1 March 1964. A resounding statistics that is alongside other important statistics.
Inter have scored four inside of the first 31 minutes of a Serie A match for the first time since 12 March 2017, against Atalanta, which also occurred from the 17th to the 31st minutes. It's the first time since last May against Frosinone (5-0, also away from home) that Inter have won a game in Serie A scoring at least five goals. Additionally, Inter have scored at least two goals in each of the last 13 away games against Hellas Verona in Serie A: a record for a team when facing a single opponent away in the history of the competition.
THURAM-CORREA: GOALS AND ASSISTS Joaquín Correa has got back to scoring ways in the Serie A 756 days after his last goal in the league, on 29 October 2022, against Sampdoria at the Meazza. Each of the three away goals scored by Tucu for Inter have come at the Bentegodi, after the brace on his debut in the summer of 2021.
For Marcus Thuram, however, its the fourth time this season that he has scored more than one goal: he has scored nine so far this season, with goals always coming in the cup: brace against Genoa, Atalanta and Verona and then a hat trick against Torino.
SCORING DEFENDERS AND MORE
Yann Bisseck is one of just three defenders born after 2000 to have scored at least three goals in the last two Serie A seasons (since 2023/24), alongside Andrea Cambiaso (three) and Patrick Dorgu (four). Inter are the side that boast the highest number of different scorers in the top five European leagues at the moment: 13 (Bayer Leverkusen, PSG, Monaco and Nice all on 12).
Stefan de Vrij has scored at least one goal in each of the last three seasons with Inter in Serie A: the most recent game last February against Lecce. Yann Sommer has reached 100 'clean sheets' in the top five European leagues (25 with Inter).
