Two Nerazzurri chosen by the UEFA observer panel

The bitter end of the final in Istanbul does not erase the good performance of Inter and its players throughout their European journey. Thirteen matches in which the Nerazzurri team fell twice in the group against Bayern (the second came after qualification had already been secured), and won fantastic victories against Barcelona, Porto, Benfica and Milan, before suffering a narrow defeat against City in the last act.

A Champions League that saw Inter keep a clean sheet on eight occasions (as did only City), as well as dominating the charts in tackles (196) and balls recovered (494).

UEFA's committee of professional observers compiled the Champions League Team of the Season, the team made up of the best 11 in the competition. Only players from Manchester City, Inter Milan and Real Madrid feature.

Representing the Nerazzurri colours are Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco

Bastoni (12 appearances) was the ninth most-used player in the entire Champions League, having summed up 989 minutes played, in a ranking that sees Onana as the outright record-holder: the Nerazzurri goalkeeper played all 1,170 minutes in the Champions League. Bastoni churned out three assists, covered 112.31 kilometres and finished with 49 balls recovered.

Federico Dimarco's Champions League (11 appearances) is highlighted by the five assists he provided (third in the overall table) and a consistency in performances that led him to be often dangerous going forward, as in the final when he hit the crossbar with his header.

Walker (Man City), Ruben Dias (Man City), Bastoni (Inter), Dimarco (Inter)
