Inter's race continues at the top of the table: the ninth consecutive victory in the league brings Inzaghi's team to 72 points in the championship after 27 matchdays, with the gap over the second-placed team stretching to 15 points. A truly impressive march by the Nerazzurri who defeated Genoa 2-1 thanks to goals from Asllani and Sanchez. For the midfielder, it was his first goal in Nerazzurri colors, for the Chilean, the third of the season, the first in the league.

Against Genoa, Simone Inzaghi reached the milestone of 300 Serie A matches on the sidelines: he is the coach with the most victories within the same number of games in the history of the competition: 179 (surpassing Carlo Ancelotti's 172 wins and Massimiliano Allegri's 171).

72 POINTS AND 9 CONSECUTIVE WINS

Inter has collected 72 points in this season: this is only the fourth occasion in Serie A history where a team has totaled so many points after the first 27 matches of the season, after Inter themselves in 2006/07 (73), Juventus in 2013/14 (72), and in 2018/19 (75).

For the Nerazzurri, it's 9 consecutive wins in Serie A, from Inter vs. Hellas on January 6 onwards, Inzaghi's team has only won. Considering also the Italian Super Cup and the Champions League, it's 12 out of 12 in 2024. Inter's longest winning streak in the league dates back to 2021, with 11 successes between January and April.

ASLLANI'S FIRST GOAL AND THAT COINCIDENCE...

What a goal from Asllani: his first in the Nerazzurri jersey. An uncontrollable joy, coming in his 53rd official appearance in the Nerazzurri colors. And to think that his last goal in Serie A was scored at the San Siro, against Inter, when he was playing for Empoli. That day Inter won 4-2 and, in that match, Alexis Sanchez also scored: he too hadn't scored in Serie A since May 6, 2022, 668 days before this Inter vs. Genoa match.

Asllani and Sanchez have become the 15th and 16th different scorers for Inter in this Serie A season, a record. And in the post-match interview, the Albanian midfielder shared his emotions.
