Comeback victory in the capital!

Inter, Inter, Inter. They do say that the comeback is always stronger than the setback. In the pouring rain at the Olimpico, the Nerazzurri came from behind to beat Roma with real class and determination. It finished 4-2, with Bastoni sealing an epic win in stoppage time. That was magnificent.

The Nerazzurri have thus added three points to their tally - and a very important three points at that. After Acerbi’s opener, Roma responded through Mancini and then El Shaarawy to take a lead into half-time. But Inter were truly devastating in the second half and fought back ferociously.

First, Thuram equalised from Darmian’s cross. Then, the Frenchman was involved in Inter’s third as he competed with Angelino, who could only put Mkhitaryan’s cross into his own net. The Nerazzurri were suddenly in front and were also grateful to Sommer, who helped preserve the advantage. Finally, in stoppage time, Arnautovic received the ball from Sanchez and set up Bastoni to kill off the game on the counter. Quite simply, a wonderful evening for the Nerazzurri!
