A good display from Inter, who got plenty of minutes into their legs, had strikers on the scoresheet, and saw a return to action in Nerazzurri colours for Romelu Lukaku (with a goal to boot). Inter beat Reggina 2-0 and took another step closer to the league's restart on 4 January against Napoli. At the stadio Granillo, it was a friendly that saw the Inzaghi brothers come up against each other in the dugout. It was a fascinating contest, that saw Inter dominate for large parts. The goals, though, only came towards the end of the game: Dzeko with a header, and then Lukaku slotted home in front of goal. Dzeko and Lukaku lined up together up front, with Simone Inzaghi starting the pair from the start for the first time ever. Inter had rather different motives than Reggina, who left out several players ahead of their upcoming league game. Dimarco was impressive on the left-hand side, busy all night up and down whipping balls into the box and creating several dangerous opportunities. Reggina were unable to absorb the amount of Nerazzurri waves going forward, but they did come close to opening the scoring through Gagliolo's header that was well-saved by Onana. On the other side of the pitch, Ravaglia was kept busy. Inter were at times inaccurate shooting at goal, but when they did, they found a keeper in outstanding form, with Lukaku's header, three minutes before the end of the first half, being brilliantly tipped onto the post. Inter's win was down to teamwork, with Skriniar and Bastoni contributing to the attacking plays. The same pattern of play continued after the break, with Reggina again having half chances on the break through Giraudo (saved well by Onana) and surges from Fabbian. Changes overhauled both teams' line-ups with Inter pushing the home side back even more, showing a will to take back to Milan a win. Their efforts finally paid off: Dzeko got ahead of his marker to head home from a corner after 80 minutes on the clock to make it 1-0. Eight minutes later Lukaku struck: Dimarco with a cross in from the left eventually found the Belgian, who controlled and coolly slotted home from six yards out for 2-0. In the dying stages, there was even time for Gosens to hit the post with a back-heel. Inter's next game is set for Thursday 29 December at 17:00 CET, where they will face Sassuolo at Mapei Stadium.
