Red Bull Salzburg - Inter, all about the match

Inter are ready to take to the field in the fifth and penultimate friendly of this preseason campaign. After matches against Lugano and Pergolettese at Appiano Gentile and games against Al-Nassr and Paris Saint-Germain in Japan, the Nerazzurri take on Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday 9 August at 19:00 CEST.

The match, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sport, Now TV and DAZN, will be the Nerazzurri's penultimate test of the summer, which will conclude on Sunday with the friendly against Egnatia in Ferrara. Then, it's Serie A time, with kick-off scheduled for Sunday 19 August at 20:45 CEST at San Siro, against Monza.

THE OPPONENT 

Inter and Salzburg meet again, after the friendly last December which ended 4-0 to the Nerazzurri during the Malta Training Camp. The only official two-legged encounter between them was the final of the UEFA Cup in 1994: Inter won both games 1-0 (Berti scored in the away leg, Jonk in the return), thus confirming the Nerazzurri’s second UEFA Cup in Inter history.,

Salzburg have already started in the league, playing two official matches in the Austrian top division. Two victories and maximum points, together with Sturm Graz, puts Struber’s team joint top of the table. Red Bull Salzburg defeated Altach 2-0 in their first game (Ratkov, Pavlovic) and WSG Tirol 3-0 in their second game (2 Konate, Nene). 

Having already started the official season and with an important game on the horizon - Sunday at 17:00 CEST against Austria Wien - a very rotated squad is to be expected, with the coach already announcing the use of some youngsters.
