Taremi's brace secures Iran's place at the World Cup 2026

The Inter forward equalised twice in the draw against Uzbekistan, allowing the Iranian's to qualify for the tournament

It was the final Inter appearance in terms of players playing for their respective nations during this international break. Iran drew 2-2 against Uzbekistan and qualified for the World Cup 2026. Mehdi Taremi shone in the match has he scored a brace and played the entire match. The Inter forward equalised twice, responding to Erkinov's and Fayzullaev's goals. Iran have qualified for the next World Cup and continue to defend top spot in the group with 20 points, three above Uzbekistan.
