On matchday 13 in the Primavera 1 division, Inter fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Genoa. In what was a complicated match, the Nerazzurri fell behind but found a first-half equaliser through Lavelli. However, Ghirardello then bagged a brace for the hosts, with Inter also being reduced to ten men following Zanchetta's sending-off.
The game got off to a lively start as Rossi tested Zamarian with just two minutes on the clock. In the ninth minute, Venturini could only fire into Consiglio's arms from an excellent position. Two minutes later, Deseri picked out Fazio, who gave Genoa the lead. The Nerazzurri looked to respond, with Consiglio keeping out a De Pieri header from a corner (25'). Inter equalised in the 34th minute: De Pieri picked out Della Mora, whose cross from the right was converted by Lavelli. The Nerazzurri's joy was short-lived, however, as Ghirardello restored the home side's advantage two minutes later. Just before half-time, Rossi hit the post for the Rossoblù, who took a 2-1 lead into the break.
After the restart, Genoa added a third in the 54th minute: Accornero set up Ghirardello on the counter, and the attacker made no mistake with just Zamarian to beat. Things became even more complicated for Inter in the 58th minute, when Zanchetta was shown a second yellow and received his marching orders. Despite being down to ten men, the Nerazzurri didn't give up and had a great opportunity through Venturini, whose 69th-minute effort was brilliantly saved by Consiglio. Genoa managed their lead well in the closing stages and saw the game out.
