MILANO - A win that arrived thanks to the team's determination and incredible desire to win: after Inter vs. Benfica, Marcus Thuram, who scored the winning goal for the Nerazzurri, spoke to Mediaset and Inter TV:
“We’re happy with the three points; it was an important game. I’m delighted that we’ve won in front of our fans. San Siro is incredible; the fans really spur us on. We really felt their support, which certainly helped us. I don’t deserve the credit alone for scoring; the credit goes to the entire team. I was the one who scored today, but it doesn’t matter who finds the net. Lautaro is one of the best strikers in the world, and we’re learning how to play with each other. You can always improve in every training session and every match, and we want to carry on growing. Dumfries and I have set each other up before. He’s my friend, just like all my other teammates are. ”

Nerazzurri widemen Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries also gave their thoughts to Mediaset and Inter TV after the final whistle:
“All the matches are difficult in this group. We were excellent in terms of our desire to win and the chances we created. However, we need to kill off matches earlier because these are tricky games and anything can happen. All our attackers create a lot and score; they’re all very strong. Every match is different; we’re involved in a lot of games, and it isn’t easy to play every three days. We’re in a good place and putting in the hard work. The group is compact and always aspires to do well. Our play was a bit too slow in the first half and we didn’t create much, but it was a different game after the restart.”
Federico Dimarco
“I’m happy to have provided the assist for Marcus, who is a great striker. I’m also happy about the win. It’s an important victory, especially after our draw against Real Sociedad. We needed to react after our performance in San Sebastian, and today we played well and could have scored more goals. Benfica have many technical players who know how to occupy the spaces well. They’re not an easy side to face; we know all about them having played them last season. ”
