The Nerazzurri played out a draw with Bologna on matchday eight of the 2023/24 Serie A season. Here are the most interesting facts and figures to emerge from the game at San Siro, which finished 2-2:
10 GOALS FOR OUR NUMBER 10
With his extraordinary goal against Bologna, Lautaro Martinez made it ten for the season in Serie A after just eight matchdays. The Nerazzurri captain is the third player in Inter's history to reach double figures in the opening eight games of a league campaign; he's followed in the footsteps of Giuseppe Meazza (eleven in 1935/36) and Antonio Valentin Angelillo (16 in 1958/59).
THURAM'S ASSISTS
No player has provided more assists than Marcus Thuram in the top five European leagues this campaign. The Frenchman currently has five to his name, putting him level with Tottenham's James Maddison and Atletico Madrid's Saúl Ñíguez.
Thuram has reached this assist tally in the opening eight games of his first-ever season in Serie A and is the first attacker to do so in the past 20 seasons.
SETTING UP TEAMMATES
Thanks to his perfect corner that landed on Acerbi's head, Hakan Calhanoglu now has 50 assists to his name in Serie A. Since joining Inter, no player has provided more assists from set-pieces than the Turkish midfielder across the top five European divisions: eleven, level with Freiburg's Vincenzo Grifo.
117 SECONDS
Two goals in less than two minutes: just 117 seconds separated Acerbi and Lautaro Martinez's finishes against Bologna.
ACERBI ON THE SCORESHEET
Against Bologna, Francesco Acerbi scored for the first time in Serie A in Nerazzurri colours. His only previous Inter goal had come against Parma in the Coppa Italia round of 16 last season. Acerbi hadn't found the net in the Italian top flight since bagging in Spezia vs. Lazio on 30 April 2022.
