PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Inter and Monza have faced each other four times in Serie A, with a record of two wins for the Nerazzurri, one draw, and one victory for the Biancorossi. Inter has won the last two encounters against Monza in Serie A and remains unbeaten at the U-Power Stadium in this competition. In the two matches played at this venue, a total of 10 goals have been scored (an average of five per game), and neither side has managed to keep a clean sheet.

INTER'S CURRENT FORM

After three matchdays in Serie A, Inter sits at the top of the table alongside Juventus, Torino, and Udinese, with seven points from two wins and a draw. The Nerazzurri began their 2024/25 campaign with a 2-2 draw away at Genoa, followed by a 2-0 win over Lecce and a commanding 4-0 victory against Atalanta.

Inter has netted eight goals while conceding just two. Simone Inzaghi's team is the only side in the league to have scored more than once in the opening 15 minutes of play this season, with three early goals to their name. Impressively, they have broken the deadlock within the first five minutes in each of their last two matches. Beyond having the league’s most prolific attack, Inter also leads in goals from set pieces, with four scored in the first three games.

THE OPPONENT: MONZA

Monza, led by Alessandro Nesta in his first season at the helm, has earned two points from their opening three Serie A matches. They began the campaign with a 0-0 draw away to Empoli, suffered a narrow 1-0 home defeat against Genoa, and then drew 2-2 away to Fiorentina. So far, Monza has scored twice and conceded three goals.

SUPER TIKUS

Marcus Thuram has had an outstanding start to the season. "Tikus" is enjoying his best-ever start in a top-flight league, having scored four goals in his first three appearances, at least double his tally at the same stage in any previous season.

IL TORO AND MONZA

Lautaro Martínez always brings his best when facing Monza. The Inter captain has scored five goals in four Serie A matches against Monza, including a brace in each of his last two encounters with this opponent.

INFALLIBLE CALHA

His performances and plays continue to be crucial for Inter. Hakan Çalhanoglu has completed the most successful passes in the opponent’s half over the first three matchdays of this season: 113. The Turkish midfielder also continues to showcase his technical prowess in front of goal, having converted all 17 of his penalties in Serie A—a record streak since the data has been tracked (from 2005/06). One of those penalty goals came against Monza on 13 January, when he scored his first brace in the competition.
