The Nerazzurri's October has come to an end: a very positive month for Inter, with Simone Inzaghi's side winning four of their five league and Champions League matches. The Nerazzurri scored nine goals in total and conceded only three times, taking them to top of Serie A and Group D in the Champions League, equal on points with Real Sociedad. October saw several key players, some great performances and memorable goals: the time has therefore come for Inter fans to choose the LeoVegas.News Player of the Month. The four players nominated are: Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu, Denzel Dumfries and Yann Sommer. MARCUS THURAM
A month in the spotlight for Marcus Thuram, who left an important mark on the Nerazzurri's October. The French striker scored three goals and provided one assist in five appearances in the league and Champions League, being chosen by the Nerazzurri fans as Man of the Match in the games against Torino and Rome. Tikus scored the opening goal of the game three times, resulting in being decisive in the successes against Benfica and the Giallorossi. An overall contribution that goes far beyond simple numbers: Thuram was undoubtedly one of Inter's driving forces during this month of October.
HAKAN CALHANOGLU
Class and energy: Hakan Calhanoglu is a guarantee for Inter and is always able to stand out positively in every game. The Turkish midfielder provided a series of high-quality performances in October, a month where he scored twice and made an assist for Acerbi against Bologna. Calhanoglu was also decisive against FC Salzburg in the Champions League, scoring the penalty to make it 2-1 for Inter and being named Man of the Match by UEFA.
DENZEL DUMFRIES
An unlimited amount of energy, an unstoppable locomotive: among those who are keeping up a consistent level of performance since the beginning of the season is certainly Denzel Dumfries. In October, the Dutchman played ever game, making two assists for Marcus Thuram goals, breaking the deadlock in fixtures against Benfica and Turin. In the last match against Roma, Dumfries further raised his game, performing at his best both going forward and in defending.
YANN SOMMER
Best attack in the lague, but also the best defence: if Inter have only let in seven goals across Serie A and the Champions League since the start of the season, then credit must also go to Yann Sommer. In October, the Swiss goalkeeper conceded only three goals, one of which was a penalty. He has collected three of his eight clean sheets this season in the last month alone, where he produced some sensational saves. Against Benfica, Torino and Roma, he was involved in some vital stops when the scoreline was 0-0, saves that allowed the Nerazzurri to go on and achieve win three big wins.
