Lautaro features in Argentina's draw

Argentina clash away in Venezuela finished as a draw. After the journey was complicated by the current weather situation, the match was also disrupted by strong rainfall causing the start of the match at the Estadio Monumental Maturin to be delayed, as a result of poor pitch conditions.

The match got underway: Argentina went ahead thanks to a goal from Otamendi, however Venezuela found an equaliser through Rondon. Inter Captain, Lautaro Martinez, originally started on the bench, but made an appearance in the final minutes of the match, subbing on for Julian Alvarez in the 85th minute.

The Albiceleste are in action again on Tuesday night at the Monumental Buenos Aires against Bolivia. Scaloni's side are top of the qualifying group for the 2026 World Cup with 19 points.
